Students, staff give thanks at VHBG

Virginia Home for Boys and Girls John G. Wood School held a gratitude event to celebrate the holidays last month. Students, staff and teachers wrote things they were grateful for on colorful paper strips, then linked them together on the soccer field and shared their reflections with one another.

Many chains read “grateful for a place to call home.” Students spoke about being grateful for their loved ones, good health, an education, pets, hobbies, friends and being able to laugh with one another.
