About 20 girl scouts from the Short Pump area gathered at the local American Heart Association (AHA) headquarters in Innsbrook May 15 for an afternoon of activities and education emphasizing healthy lifestyles.
Linda Carne, CEO for the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia and a member of the AHA’s Circle of Red, spoke to brownies from Troop 3514 about fitness and nutrition. Troop members Courtney Adams and Morgan Jupe, eighth graders from Pocahontas Middle School and Short Pump Middle School respectively, organized the event as part of the requirements for their Silver Awards.
