Pocahontas Middle School is an exciting place bursting with energy and fun activities. We just finished another successful Duck Fundraiser. The Duck Fundraiser is an event where students are encouraged to sell magazines in order to raise money for the school. If you sell a certain amount of magazine subscriptions, you are able to go to an awesome party during ACE (study hall)! At this party you can play games, drink soda, hangout with your friends, and win money.

Also we recently had Spirit Week. During this festive seven-day period we had Tie Dye Tuesday, Wacky Tacky Wednesday and Favorite Team Thursday. On Friday we had our first marking period Pep Rally. During the Pep Rally students and teachers were involved in a series of games and “cheer offs.”

Out of sixth, seventh, and eight grade my own seventh grade came out with a victory. For our prize, the spirit flag has been placed in our hallway until the next pep rally. Our fantastic fall sport players were recognized in front of the entire school.

Those were just some of the major events that occurred during the first marking period at Pocahontas Middle School.
