School Briefs - Holman Middle School

At Holman Middle School the hallways are filled with cheers and excitement, and Holman always has something to cheer about. The first few months of the school year have been very exciting. Holman’s fall sports teams, girls’ basketball, girls’ tennis, boys’ soccer, football, cheering, and dance team, are all having excellent seasons. Also, Holman used magazine sales as a fundraiser again this year. Many of the students were anxious to get started selling the magazines, and many students won a right to go to a party and won other prizes.

Holman Middle School also had the PTA Reflections during the beginning of the school year. The topic for the reflections was “The Magic of a Moment.” Many students took this as an opportunity to increase their skills in any art category that they choose. Many students participated and made the Reflections Program another success at Holman Middle School.

Holman Middle School is hosting an author again this November. For the past few years, a famous author has come to Holman, and every grade level reads a different one of his/her books. Right now Holman is in the process of getting prepared for a visit from this year’s author, Donna Jo Napoli. One of our Reading teachers, Mrs. Alley, works hard to make sure our students are prepared, and the students and teachers go over the top to make the author’s welcome to Holman a good one. Holman Middle School continues to grow and become well-known in its new community as they continue to strive for excellence.
