School briefs - Hermitage Technical Center
![]() In other news: HTC is preparing to participate in the 2013 Internship Fair for Henrico County Public Schools, to be held at Glen Allen High School. The event is supported by the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Business Council, and offers students the opportunity to learn about internships that can help them make informed career decisions. In preparation for the May 7 event, teachers are preparing students as to what an internship offers. The Internship Fair serves to make students aware of what kind of internships various businesses offer and will give them a chance to interview for an internship position. During the evening (6 to 8 p.m.), CTE business partners will elaborate on the types of internships they are offering and the duration of those internships. Students may be interviewing for paid or unpaid internships or a chance to shadow an individual at work. Regardless of the type of internship, students will be able to claim experience in a chosen business or profession – experience that can lead to job opportunities. Hermitage Technical Center plans to motivate their students to participate and become more familiar with the field they are studying in their tech classes. Hermitage Technical Center is excited to start off the new semester with so many exciting things to look forward to in their goal of presenting their students with the best learning experience possible. |
