Route 5 Corridor Study meeting planned May 31
![]() A number of regional and state entities have been studying the corridor between Laburnum Avenue and 7th Street downtown for months and will present conceptual alternatives during next week's open house, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at VDOT's Central Office Auditorium, 1221 E. Broad Street in Richmond. The study is part of a joint effort between VDOT, the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission, the City of Richmond, Henrico County, the GRTC Transit System and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. It has included consideration of multimodal transportation improvements to benefit transit, commuters, bicyclcists and pedestrians. Attendees will be able to provide input and feedback to officials at the meeting. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.
