Resource Workforce Center opening
The Resource Workforce Investment Board will host the grand opening of the newest Resource Workforce Center in Eastern Henrico at 121 Cedar Fork Road on Monday, Sept. 24, at 1:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and will provide an opportunity to learn about the free services offered to job-seekers and businesses.
The organization is a federally funded board that works to increase private sector employment opportunities and oversees the activities authorized under the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998. For details, visit http://www.ResourceVA.com.
Reynolds Community College will host Richmond sculptor Paul DiPasquale Sept. 28 as he shares his presentation “Art Talk, Why Art Matters” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Conference Center Gallery of the Workforce Development and Conference Center on the Parham Road Campus, located at 1651 E. CalendarHenrico County will offer a free home maintenance workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the former Dumbarton Library at 6800 Staples Mill Rd. The topic will be “Weatherization and Maintenance” and will teach attendees about seasonal activities, such as cleaning gutters, washing siding and maintaining heating systems. It also will address how to take care of major appliances and prevent dangerous situations. There will be hands-on demonstrations, exhibits and light refreshments.
