The Henrico County Department of Public Works will close a portion of Mill Road just west of Old Washington Highway beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 27 while a contractor bores a gas line under the railroad tracks. The road is expected to reopen in the afternoon on Friday, March 30.
Traffic will be detoured from Mill by way of Old Washington and Mountain Road. Signs will be posted; motorists should expect delays. Henrico police will allow school buses and emergency vehicles to pass but only between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. while the work is underway. For more information, call Michael A. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare
Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
