Pinchbeck’s Stein named ‘Super Teacher’

Pinchbeck Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Ryan Stein was mobbed by admiring students May 28 following a surprise announcement that Stein had been named a Virginia Lottery “super teacher.”

One of eight teachers statewide to win the award, Stein received a $2,000 check from the lottery and a $2,000 gift certificate for classroom supplies from The Supply Room Companies. Among those joining Stein in the celebration, held at a school pep rally, were (left to right) Steve Wright of The Supply Room Companies; Kimberly Mullins, Stein's fiancee; Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula I. Otto; Catherine McSorley, a PES parent who wrote the essay nominating Stein for the award; and Matthew Stein, Ryan's brother.

Stein was one of 20 Henrico teachers honored by the Citizen in its first annual "Henrico's Top Teachers" issue Feb. 17. Read the profile that appeared in that issue here: http://www.henricocitizen.com/index.php/news/article/ryan_stein_7438.
