Pinchbeck ES celebrates history

The fourth grade classes at Pinchbeck Elementary School marked the successful performance of another history play entirely created by students, with their showing of “MVP TV” April 19 in the school cafeteria. Among the fourth graders celebrating with parents and teachers following the play were (at right, left to right) Emily Donbrosky, Jada Alston, and Renecca Brendle.

Last year, the fourth graders produced “Live from the American Revolution”; this year, fellow students and parents were invited to learn about the Civil War by following two sisters as they traveled back in time to 1850-1870 and met abolitionists, President Lincoln, Gen. Grant, Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, J.E.B. Sturart and other historical figures. The play also explored the life of a Union and Confederate soldier and allowed spectators to experience the Battle of Bull Run, Battle of Fredericksburg, and the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse.
