Off-duty Henrico officer injured in hit-and-run

Police seeking driver of tractor trailer
Henrico Police are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the driver of a tractor trailer involved in a hit-and-run incident this morning in Sandston.

At 11:28 a.m., officers responded to an accident at East Williamsburg Road and Technology Boulevard, in which the tractor trailer and a motorcycle were travelling eastbound on Williamsburg Road when the tractor trailer changed lanes, forcing the motorcycle off the road. The 18-wheel tractor trailer left the scene of the accident. It is described as a logging truck with a faded red cab and a logging trailer containing a full load of logs. The truck was last seen headed east bound on Williamsburg Road.

The off-duty officer, a 33-year-old male who was driving his personal motorcycle, was transported to VCU Medical Center and is in stable condition. The extent of his injuries are unknown.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has details about the truck should contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by the tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
