Off-duty Henrico officer injured in hit-and-run
Police seeking driver of tractor trailer
Henrico Police are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the driver of a tractor trailer involved in a hit-and-run incident this morning in Sandston.
At 11:28 a.m., officers responded to an accident at East Williamsburg Road and Technology Boulevard, in which the tractor trailer and a motorcycle were travelling eastbound on Williamsburg Road when the tractor trailer changed lanes, forcing the motorcycle off the road. The motorcycle, driven by an off-duty Henrico police officer, crashed in the grass median in the middle of East Williamsburg Road near Technology Boulevard.
The 18-wheel tractor trailer left the scene of the accident. It is described as a logging truck with a faded red cab and a logging trailer containing a full load of logs. The truck was last seen headed east bound on Williamsburg Road.
The off-duty officer, a 33-year-old male who was driving his personal motorcycle, was transported to VCU Medical Center and is in stable condition. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has details about the truck should contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by the tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.

Pelon’s serves up a good mix of variety, value
I first stumbled into Pelon's on a Wednesday night, lured by the promise of $2 tacos and beers. At those prices, I had assumed the place was a hole in the wall, and was pleasantly surprised by the spacious, pleasant interior.
Having spent my teen summers in Virginia Beach surfing, I also felt instantly at home amid the ocean-themed decor. From the ride-the-waves posters lining the walls and the TV displaying non-stop surfing footage, to the foosball table and enormous spools serving as tables, Pelon's is a delight for beach lovers and surfing fans. Reading the menu is part of the entertainment here, as patrons browse burrito choices that include Rip Tide, The Curl, Hawaiian Pipeline and Big Kahuna. > Read more.
