Motel robbery suspect sought

The Henrico County Division of Police is seeking the public's assistance in apprehending a man who robbed an Eastern Henrico motel yesterday.

On Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at approximately 7 a.m., a black male walked into the Motel 6 rental office in the 5700 block of Williamsburg Road and inquired about a room, as well as accepted methods of payment. After receiving the information, the subject exited the office. A short time later, he returned to the office, jumped the counter, grabbed the victim clerk by arm and demanded currency from the register. The suspect fled towards the rear of the business after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-35 years old, between 6 feet and 6 foot 1 inches tall and between 175 and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing an orange or tan jacket over a white t-shirt and baggy jeans.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery should call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or Henrico Police at 501-5000.
