Millionaires made in Eastern Henrico
Two local residents became millionaires recently after purchasing Virginia Lottery tickets in Eastern Henrico. Clarence Seay of Henrico won $5 million in the "Virginia’s $5 Million Club" game and Richmond resident Larry Meador won $1 million in the "Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle" contest.
Seay purchased his ticket at the Handy Stop in Sandston, while Meador purchased his ticket at the 7-Eleven in Highland Springs. Seay is pictured at top, at right, with Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto and Handy Stop owner D.H. Shah. Meador and his wife, Gayle, are pictured inset. Both stores received a $10,000 prize for selling winning tickets.

It’s a great weekend to get outside! The Pocahontas Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society is offering two events this weekend. Accompany the group to find and document native plants present and blooming in Echo Lake Park on Saturday or take a “Sunday Stroll” at Dorey Park to observe the seasonal changes taking place. Other outdoor events this weekend include the final summer concert at West Broad Village and “Fridays on the Patio” at James River Cellars Winery in Glen Allen.
