Christian Snowden, of Richmond, recently was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2011 semester at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Snowden is seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree in architecture.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Danielle D. Davis, daughter of Douglas and Jo Ann Davis of Highland Springs, recently reported for duty at Training Support Center in Great Lakes, Ill. Davis is a 2005 graduate of Open High School. She joined the Navy in February 2011.

Navy Seaman Daniel R. Swift, nephew of John C. Swift of Richmond, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Swift completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness. Swift is a 2003 graduate of J.R. Tucker High School and a 2011 graduate of Virginia Military Institute.
