‘Meet the Candidates’ nights planned
Varina District voters will have two opportunities to meet and hear from the three candidates for the district's seat on the Board of Supervisors next week.
Two 'Meet the Candidates' nights next week will provide the candidates – incumbent Republican Jim Donati, Democrat Tyrone Nelson and independent Reese Haller – with a chance to address voters and field questions.
The first will be co-hosted by the North Airport Drive Civic Association and Eastern Henrico Business Association on Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs.
The second will be hosted by the EHBA and Varina High School PTSA on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at Varina High School, 7053 Messer Road. (Tours will be given of the school's new renovations between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.)
The Children's Clothing Closet at Highland Springs United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 30 to provide free new or nearly new children's clothing for families in need, prior to the start of the school year.
