Martin’s collecting donations for Japanese victims

Martin's Food Markets and Giant Food Stores, along with its sister Ahold USA supermarkets, announced today that they will donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund to support disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Additionally, through April 3, Martin's and Giant stores will be collecting donations in all stores for the victims of the natural disasters in Japan on behalf of the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. All of the funds collected will be donated to relief efforts. “Our associates and customers want to help those in need following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan,” said Rick Herring, division president. “We are fortunate to be in a position to help with humanitarian relief efforts during this difficult time.” |

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.
