"I am so happy for the students, parents, and businesses of the Lakeside community," says Principal Herb Monroe. "The entire Lakeside staff has worked long hours and often more than five days week to make a difference in the lives of all students. This recognition shows that hard work and a true belief that all students can learn really pays off. Being named the Title I Distinguished School for 'Closing the Achievement Gap' really brings the pride back to the Lakeside community."

The VDOE recognizes schools as Title 1 Distinguished schools for maintaining full state accreditation under the commonwealth
