Jefferson-Jackson weekend set for Feb. 18-20

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley will be the keynote speaker when the Democratic Party of Virginia hosts its 2011 Jefferson-Jackson Weekend on Feb. 18-20 in Richmond.

The weekend represents the party’s largest annual fundraiser. It will feature several events, including a blood drive, an award luncheon and a celebration of Black History Month.
O'Malley, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, will speak at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 19.

The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
