Huguenot Bridge traffic delays Saturday
|
There will be alternating lanes closed on the north end of the Huguenot Memorial Bridge from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 16. Crews will be removing guardrail and applying asphalt pavement for the upcoming transition to the new section of the Huguenot Bridge, weather permitting. Expect delays of up to five minutes as flaggers direct alternating lanes of traffic through the work zone.
To avoid delays, VDOT recommends drivers use the following alternate routes: • Northbound Huguenot Road – Chippenham Parkway (Route 150) north over the Willey Bridge to River Road east to Huguenot Road – or – use Powhite Parkway (toll) east into Richmond. • Southbound Huguenot Road – River Road west to Chippenham Parkway (Route 150) south to Huguenot Road. VDOT anticipates traffic will shift from the old Huguenot Bridge to the new bridge in late June or early July following final inspection of the new structure and approaches. The public will be notified prior to the traffic shift.
