High school graduations to be aired online, on TV

Henrico County Public Schools will provide live streaming online videos and live TV footage of high school graduations next month. It will be the first time such coverage has been available to the public.

A link will be provided to the live streaming online videos on the HCPS website (http://henrico.k12.va.us/). Television-viewers can tune in to HCPS-TV locally to watch graduations as they occur (Comcast channel 99 and Verizon channel 38).

A schedule of graduations can be found on HCPS-TV and by visiting: http://henrico.k12.va.us/Calendars/graduationdates.html .

There will be no re-broadcast of these events in total, nor will any of the footage be for sale or available for copies.

The graduations of Henrico’s comprehensive high schools will take place at VCU's Siegel Center. Only these graduations will be aired live due to technology restraints.

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.

The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
