Henrico supervisors to hold April 10 public hearing on budget
![]() The meeting will begin at 6 p.m., one hour earlier than usual, in the Board Room of the Henrico Government Center, 4301 E. Parham Road. Residents may provide oral or written comments on the proposed $1 billion plan to guide operating and capital spending for the year beginning July 1. The plan recommends a general fund of $735.3 million for operations of Henrico’s general government, including the divisions of Police and Fire, and its school system. The proposed general fund represents a decrease of $8.4 million, or 1.1 percent, from the current year plan. The proposed budget recommends no change to the real estate tax rate of 87 cents per $100 of assessed value. Residents are encouraged to sign up in advance to speak at the hearing. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
