Henrico Police arrest 10 in West End prostitution sting

Danielle J. Cummings
Henrico Police arrested and charged a Florida woman with prostitution and nine men with soliciting a prostitute or solicitation of prostitution earlier this month as part of of "Operation 360 - An All Points Crime Initiative," officials announced today.

Police concentrated their efforts during the week of Oct. 3-9 in the residential and commercial communities within the Wistar Road, West Broad Street, Glenside Drive and Staples Mill Road areas. Overall, they arrested 115 people, charging 98 with traffic violations, 12 with criminal charges and serving 10 outstanding warrants.

A prostitution sting along the Glenside Drive and West Broad Street commercial areas led to 10 arrests. Danielle Jane Cummings of Jacksonville, Fla. was charged with prostitution. Three men were charged with soliciting a prostitute and six men were charged with solicitation of prostitution.

The 'All Points Crime Initiative' was designed to address quality of life issues in the county, officials said. It spearheads the use of the intelligence-led policing model, according to Police Chief Doug Middleton. The effort will continue throughout the year.

"It will incorporate special projects at every compass point in the county", Middleton said.

Through partnerships with members of the community, police gathered information that was useful in launching specific enforcement initiatives, officials said.
