Henrico man dies in crash

A single-vehicle crash on the Fourth of July claimed the life of a 57-year-old Henrico man.

William B. White, the driver of a 2008 Mazda, drove off Skipwith Road at about 8:10 p.m. and struck a brick wall, according to witnesses. He was transported to VCU Medical Center experiencing cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at 8:51 p.m. A female passenger in the car also was treated at VCU Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, according to Henrico Police.

Police do not know whether White, of the 7500 block of Green Gate Drive, suffered the cardiac arrest before or after the accident or if there were any other factors that may have contributed to the crash. An autopsy and toxicology report are pending.
