HCPS wins national ‘20/20 Vision’ contest

Henrico County Public Schools recently was named the grand prize winner in a nationwide video contest sponsored by Edgenuity, a leading provider of online and blended learning solutions. The school district will receive a $5,000 technology grant to extend online and blended learning solution capabilities to additional students.

Henrico County’s winning video (http://www.edgenuity.com/2020visionwinners) addresses the way that technology is driving personalized learning and tailored instruction that bolsters student performance and understanding.

Runner-up winners of the “20/20 Vision” video contest include Coppell Independent School District of Texas and Mayville School District of Wisconsin, which will receive software licenses courtesy of Edgenuity to extend online and blended learning solution capabilities to additional students.

County plans Fourth of July event


Henrico County Recreation and Parks will present “Red, White, and Lights” at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park July 4.

Henrico County has hosted a Fourth of July celebration annually since 1981, but this year’s event will offer a later start time and expanded hours and be highlighted by new entertainment.

The free event will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will feature the Richmond Symphony, a laser-light show, patriotic performances, and family activities. > Read more.
