HCPS to hold achievement gap community meetings

Henrico County Public Schools will hold two community meetings to discuss the achievement gap in Henrico Schools: Tuesday, Jan. 17 at New Bridge Learning Center, 5915 Nine Mile Rd., and Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Henrico Training Center, 7701 E. Parham Rd. Both meetings are from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

These initial meetings will focus on the gap between black and white students and effective methods to address the issue. Officials will share data, show trends over time and discuss areas that show positive gain, as well as areas that need improvement. The Division Leadership Team, with the support of the NAACP and the Coalition for Justice for Civil Rights, will conduct these meetings for the benefit of the Henrico community and its students.
