Harvie ES students ‘touch’ history

History, past and present, came to life Feb. 16 as Harvie Elementary School students portrayed some of the most influential African American entertainers, scientists, athletes, doctors, political and military figures in American history as part of the school’s “Touch Museum.”

Students stood motionless, holding their poses until touched by their teacher, at which time they sprang to life, naming the figures they were portraying, as well as their accomplishments and other facts of historical note.
