The Gayton Branch of the Henrico County Public Libraries, located at 10600 Gayton Road, will temporarily close for renovation work at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, and will reopen sometime in 2012. The construction project was made possible by the 2005 Henrico bond referendum.
Library services to members of the Gayton Library family and community will continue to be provided at the Tuckahoe and Twin Hickory Area Libraries. Library materials cannot be returned to the Gayton site after April 23 but can be returned to any other Henrico library. Anticipated new library features include a more comfortable and open interior, new teen space, an updated collection, and an improved study area. Families can attend storytimes at any other Henrico library. |

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Whale of a treat
Ironfish delights with a variety of tasty catches
I was overjoyed to head back for another meal at Ironfish by Pescados, considered the Best New Restaurant in 2011 by both the Richmond Times Dispatch and Richmond Magazine. I agree whole-heartedly with their ratings. Since I first visited the restaurant for my birthday in January, I was waiting for the perfect special occasion to return. I couldn’t wait another year, obviously.
Run by the same restaurateurs as Pescados Latin Caribbean Seafood in Midlothian and Eat in Oregon Hill, Ironfish offers the same unique dishes and top-level customer service. > Read more.
Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare
Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
