Varina High School's football field will be transformed into a movie set on Saturday, Oct. 2 as part of the filming for Lifetime's original movie "Unanswered Prayers," inspired by the Garth Brooks song of the same name.

Filmmakers will record football scenes at Blue Devil Stadium that day, and members of the public are being invited to attend and portray fans of the "Stone Creek Wolverines." Fans who attend should dress in winter clothes (jackets, fleece vests, knit caps, scarves and gloves) to portray the late November homecoming-themed scene.

In the movie, the school's colors will be navy and gold, so fans should wear matching colors if possible. Some fans will receive prizes, including Garth brooks merchandise, free dinners or a wide-screen TV.{{more}}

Several days of filming for the movie already has occurred in Varina; filmmakers shot last week on New Osborne Turnpike.

The film will premiere in November and explores the themes of marriage, family, community and second chances with love.

The movie tells the story of a happily married father (Eric Close) who is living the American dream when the woman (Madchen Amick) of his high school fantasies returns home. He has to face his past and will be presented with a choice that could change his future. Samantha Mathis will portray his wife.

The movie is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

The film's executive producers are Garth Brooks and Lisa Sanderson, a producing partner and CEO of Red Strokes Entertainment.

Emmy Award-winning Steven Schachter (Lifetime's The Mermaid Chair, Door to Door) will direct Unanswered Prayers, which was written by Deena Goldstone (Lifetime's Identity Theft: The Michelle Brown Story, A Bunny's Tale) and Joyce Eliason (Lifetime's America and Gracie's Choice).
