The Pocahontas Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, recently presented four of the Society’s lineage books to the Library of Virginia in memory of past Chapter Regent Mary Leigh Boisseau. Boisseau, who died earlier this year, was a genealogist, author, and active volunteer supporting veterans and active duty military throughout Virginia. She was serving as chapter registrar and Virginia State First Vice Regent at the time of her death.

Library of Virginia Collections Management Coordinator Tom Ray accepted the books at the chapter’s Sept. 13 meeting from Chapter Librarian Betty Camp.

The Pocahontas Chapter, with 30 members, is one of nine chapters in Virginia. The Chapter's members are female descendants of an ancestor who rendered civil or military service in any of the colonies prior to July 4, 1776.
