Creighton Road bridge closing July 23 for repairs

Starting at 5 p.m. Monday, July 23, all travel lanes will be closed on Creighton Road at the bridge over the Chickahominy River just south of the I-295 interchange for repairs through December. Drivers should expect delays.

During construction, drivers are encouraged to use the following detour:

Creighton Road southbound (from Hanover County)

  • I-295 north to Mechanicsville Turnpike/Route 360 west (exit 37)

  • Left turn onto Laburnum Avenue to Creighton Road


  • Creighton Road northbound (from Henrico County)

  • Left turn onto Laburnum Avenue

  • Right turn onto Mechanicsville Turnpike/Route 360 east

  • I-295 south to Creighton Road (exit 34)

    Popular Short Pump spot offers upscale comfort, flavors
    The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
