Coach convicted of possession of child pornography
|
A Richmond-area youth figure skating coach has been convicted on 15 counts of possession of child pornography following his guilty plea in Henrico County Circuit Court. David Keith Loncar, 47, was sentenced by Judge Burnett Miller to 145 years imprisonment, with 141.5 years suspended, resulting in three and a half years active imprisonment.
Loncar offered to distribute child pornography videos to an undercover police officer through a peer-to-peer file sharing network. The officer confirmed that the videos were child pornography and obtained a search warrant for the defendant's residence in Henrico County. The Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force subsequently executed the search warrant and seized Loncar's computer and other digital media. During execution of the search warrant, officers also discovered that Loncar was in the process of downloading child pornography videos onto his computer. Richmond Police Department forensic examiners recovered more than 75 child pornography videos on his computer. In addition to the three and a half years of active incarceration, Loncar will be placed on an indefinite period of supervised probation upon his release, and will be required to be registered on the Virginia Sex Offender Registry. He also agreed to forfeit the equipment used to carry out the crime. |
