‘Click it or Ticket’ enforcement begins
Henrico Police are joining local and and national law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates throughout the nation for the 2011 national 'Click It or Ticket' seat belt enforcement mobilization, which began May 22 and will continue through June 5.
During that period, law enforcement officers throughout the state will be cracking down on motorists who fail to obey all traffic laws – including seat belt and child safety seat use.
Virginia has seen a steady decline in traffic related fatalities, but preliminary data from last year indicated that there were a total of 740 fatalities, and of those, 314 people were not restrained at the time of the crash.
In Henrico County, 39 percent of the fatal crash victims in 2010 were not restrained at the time of their crashes.
Citizens can expect to see law enforcement at all hours of the day and night enforcing all traffic laws, but officers will be paying particular attention to whether a seat belt and child restraint devices are being used.

“It’s not my hair that makes my beauty,” said Morris, who lost her hair as a chemotherapy side effect, “it’s my heart.” > Read more.
