Chesapeake Bank opens Henrico location

Kilmarnock-based Chesapeake Bank recently opened a Henrico office at 7204 Glen Forest Drive, Suite 104 in the Near West End. The office will be led by Frank Bell and will focus on the financing needs of small to medium-sized businesses.

“Chesapeake Bank coming to the Richmond market is a natural extension of our current geography and our customer base,” said Jeffrey M. Szyperski, CEO of Chesapeake Bank, which was founded in 1900. “Two-thirds of our portfolio is commercial lending, with a focus on small businesses. Even during the most recent downturn, we’ve been steadily lending funds, something other banks haven’t been capable of. We look forward to working with Richmond businesses as a long-term partner and are excited that Richmond veteran Frank Bell is leading that effort.”

Bell, the former CEO of Bank of Virginia and now senior vice president with Chesapeake Bank, said he was excited to join the new location.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Chesapeake Bank given its local community focus and long history," Bell said. "What’s more, this is an opportunity for Richmond’s entrepreneurs to find a financial partner that’s there with you side-by-side as your needs change. Based on the work Chesapeake Bank does in areas like the Northern Neck and Williamsburg, Richmonders can expect consistency, personal service – and of course – competitive terms.”
