Cantor to host job creators forum May 18

Congressman Eric Cantor, who represents Virginia's Seventh District and much of Henrico County, will host a job creators forum with local business leaders at Virginia Commonwealth University on Wednesday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Moderated by Virginia’s Chief Jobs Creation Officer, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling, the forum will provide a discussion with job creators from the district and throughout the state about creating an environment to grow the economy and foster private sector job creation.

“In my meetings with business owners in the Seventh District and across Virginia, it has become obvious that our businesses are innovative and poised to grow, but government has to stop making it harder for them to compete and create jobs," Cantor said. "My top priority is making sure that Washington is a partner to job creators rather than an impediment, by implementing pro-growth measures such as fixing our tax code and eliminating burdensome regulations.

"This forum is focused on finding ways to foster an environment for economic growth where business people can start hiring again and we can get more Virginians back to work.”

The event will take place at the VCU University Student Commons, Virginia Room, 907 Floyd Avenue.
