Cushman & Wakefield Thalhimer recently leased 20,356 square feet of retail space to Michaels in The Shops at White Oak Village, 4531 S. Laburnum Ave. Michaels will occupy the former Circuit City location and will join the anchor line-up that includes Sam’s Club, Target, Lowe’s, Martin’s, JC Penney, PetSmart and Office Max within this 900,000 square feet center.
Sewing Faith, LLC recently leased 3,727 square feet in Deep Run Centre I at 3991 Deep Rock Rd. Agents with Cushman & Wakefield Thalhimer handled lease negotiations.
Faith in Richmond, a new website for the Richmond-area faith community, recently launched. The site, http://www.faithinrichmond.com, is part interfaith directory and part news hub where visitors can keep up with what’s happening in local faith organizations. There are directories and features about: where to worship, how to serve, where families connect with weekday activities and the area book buzz. A calendar will highlight special events. All faiths will be included.
Reynolds Community College will host Richmond sculptor Paul DiPasquale Sept. 28 as he shares his presentation “Art Talk, Why Art Matters” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Conference Center Gallery of the Workforce Development and Conference Center on the Parham Road Campus, located at 1651 E. The Children's Clothing Closet at Highland Springs United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 30 to provide free new or nearly new children's clothing for families in need, prior to the start of the school year. CalendarThe Virginia Hemophilia Foundation will host the VHF Trick or Trot 5K and Fun Walk will start at 9 a.m. at Robious Landing Park. There will be a 5K course, a quick one mile route and the Monster Dash, a 100-yard fun run for kids 12 and under. Funds raised will go toward fulfilling VHF's mission of supporting the needs of those impacted by a bleeding disorder through education, advocacy, and community. The race is limited to 200 runners.
