Laburnum Ave. Michaels will occupy the former Circuit City location and will join the anchor line-up that includes Sam’s Club, Target, Lowe’s, Martin’s, JC Penney, PetSmart and Office Max within this 900,000 square feet center.

Elizabeth Duke will speak about her progression from a community banker to the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the University of Richmond’s Camp Concert Hall. Duke took office in August 2008, filling an unexpired term that ends Jan. 31, 2012. Before her appointment, she was senior executive vice president and COO of TowneBank, a Virginia-based community bank. Duke’s lecture is presented by the university’s Robins School of Business Executive Speaker Series, in conjunction with the Stanley S. Watts Lectureship and funded in part by a grant from the Manville Foundation for Private Enterprise. All events in the Robins Executive Speaker series are free and open to the public. Faith in Richmond, a new website for the Richmond-area faith community, recently launched. The site, http://www.faithinrichmond.com, is part interfaith directory and part news hub where visitors can keep up with what’s happening in local faith organizations. There are directories and features about: where to worship, how to serve, where families connect with weekday activities and the area book buzz. A calendar will highlight special events. All faiths will be included.
