Business in brief

For every child receiving a back-to-school haircut at one of the 22 Hair Cuttery salons in the metro Richmond area from Aug. 1-15, Hair Cuttery will donate a free haircut to a child in need in the community in which the haircut was purchased. Facebook fans can also donate haircuts by sharing the “Share a Haircut” Facebook app from July 18-31. Hair Cuttery’s 13th annual Share A Haircut event is expected to donate 75,000 haircuts nationwide. Through partnerships with local government and nonprofit social service organizations including the Henrico County Department of Social Services, vouchers are distributed to local children in need to obtain a free haircut in August. Last year, more than 15,000 haircuts were donated in Virginia. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/haircuttery .

And so it was a thrill to find a modern version of a Kaffeehaus right here in Henrico County: The Daily Grind, near Short Pump Town Center. > Read more.
