Thalhimer Realty Partners, Inc. manages a portfolio of commercial and multifamily assets valued at greater than $250 million. *** New Boston Fund and RER Equities, Inc. have leased 46,150 square feet of Class-A office space to Magellan Medicaid Administration at WestMark Two in Glen Allen. Magellan will occupy 23 percent of the five story, 204,622-square-foot building and is slated to move in on Sept. 1. New Boston and RER Equities have leased approximately 130,000 square feet at WestMark Two within the past five months, having previously completed an 83,414-square-foot lease with SunTrust Bank. Approximately 74,000 square feet (two floors) remain available. *** The University of Richmond’s Heilman Dining Center recently won the Loyal E. Horton Bronze Award for Residential Dining Special Event from the National Association of College and University Food Services. The winning event was a Titanic Memorial Dinner March 1, which honored the centennial anniversary of the fateful voyage. The Dining Center offered authentic dinner selections from Titanic menus and exhibited reproductions of the ship and other memorabilia, newspaper clippings from the period and a documentary of the disaster. In 2009, the Dining Center won the gold award for residential dining among medium-sized schools and the grand prize in the same category for all colleges and universities. *** Cushman & Wakefield Thalhimer recently handled the following lease negotiations: Showbest Fixture Corp. – leased 20,743 square feet at 4200-4222 Sarellen Rd.; and Dominion Uniserv Unit, Inc. – renewed its lease of 1,004 square feet in the Koger Building at 8001 Franklin Farms Dr. |

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Mother and son open new restaurant in Sandston

The Sandston Kitchen will celebrate its official grand opening on Memorial Day, May 27. The restaurant is located in the site of the former Sandston Pharmacy at 2 West Williamsburg Road. It serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. > Read more.

Ironfish delights with a variety of tasty catches

I was overjoyed to head back for another meal at Ironfish by Pescados, considered the Best New Restaurant in 2011 by both the Richmond Times Dispatch and Richmond Magazine. I agree whole-heartedly with their ratings. Since I first visited the restaurant for my birthday in January, I was waiting for the perfect special occasion to return. I couldn’t wait another year, obviously.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
