![]() Through its A+ School Rewards program, MARTIN’S Food Markets recently donated $131,307 to schools in the greater Richmond community. The program allows schools to earn cash for educational needs. After customers designate the school of their choice, A+ School Rewards points accrue with each purchase made using a BonusCard. The top school this year is Mills E. Godwin High School who earned $9,251. Longdale Elementary School also earned $3,111. For a complete listing of participating schools and the A+ School Rewards they have earned, visit http://www.martinsfoods.com/aplus . *** Henrico Doctors’ Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit recently earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for its Prematurity Program, making it one of only four hospitals in the nation – and the only in Central Virginia - to receive the honor. The NICU underwent a rigorous on-site survey in April focusing on neonatal intensive care. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated the hospital for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including leadership, quality of care and medication management. Henrico Doctors’ Hospital offers 20 Level III beds and 21 Level II beds for neonatal patients and was the first hospital to offer the March of Dimes NICU Family Support Program®. *** John Jay Schwartz, managing director of Have Site Will Travel, Ltd., recently represented the following tenants in their lease negotiations: Richmond Telecom, LLC – leased 669 square feet at The Forest Plaza II Building from FC Richmond II, LLC.; Retirement & Estate Investment Services – leased 1,389 square feet at the Libbie Square Office Park at 1807 Libbie Ave. from TCRE, LLC.; and Guild Launch – expanded into 2,677 square feet at 7204 Glen Forest Dr. from The Chevy Chase Land Company. *** The Salvation Army of Central Virginia recently partnered with Daylight Donuts, 10260 W. Broad St., to announce “Donuts of Hope,” the first campaign of its kind in central Virginia. “Donuts of Hope” is designed to honor The Salvation Army’s rich history of service, raise funds for Salvation Army programs and services, and celebrate the significance of the donut. Throughout May, citizens will have an opportunity to purchase a dozen donuts or make a financial contribution at http://www.DonutsOfHope.org The c.ampaign culminates on June 1, National Donut Day, with a celebration of the donut at a Richmond Flying Squirrels game. *** KSA Interiors, located in Innsbrook, recently named Lynne Williams, CID, IIDA, LEED AP as director of business development. Williams will be responsible for developing relationships and expanding client opportunities across the Hampton Roads region and throughout Virginia. Prior to joining KSA, Williams was business development manager at Tactical Office Solutions. She has an MBA from Strayer University and attended Syracuse University as an undergraduate, earning a BFA in Interior Design. *** Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital recently was recognized for excellence in cancer care by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. It is one of three hospitals in Virginia, and the only hospital in central Virginia, to receive the honor. Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center won the award in 2010. Established in 2004, the CoC Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA) recognizes cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. Bon Secours Cancer Institute at St. Mary’s – among a total of 489 programs surveyed in 2011 – was evaluated in six areas: cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical management, research, community outreach, and quality improvement. |

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
