Business in brief

Local entrepreneur and Henrico resident Barbara Bennett is currently competing to “Get on the Shelf” at Wal-Mart. Bennett launched her company, The Mineral Case, in 2009. A passionate fan of the mineral makeup trend – but not of the mess and hassle of various jars and loose powders – Bennett launched The Mineral Case because it clears bathroom counters and makes cosmetics easily accessible at home or while traveling. If her company receives enough votes, her product will be available at every Wal-Mart location across the country. Fans can vote once a day through April 24 at http://www.getontheshelf.com/product/5505/The-Mineral-Case To v.iew Bennett’s contest entry, visit http://youtube/Miq5hdFxMG8 .
