Citizens with concerns or complaints about towing companies in Virginia should now contact the Virginia Attorney General's Office, since the Virginia Board of Towing Recovery Operators has disbanded. The transfer occurred through a government reorganization plan proposed by Gov. Bob McDonnell's Government Reform Initiative and authorized by the General Assembly last year.
Consumers who wish to obtain information about how to file a complaint with the attorney general's office against a tow truck operator can call Virginia's toll-free consumer hotline number (800) 552-9963, or (804) 786-2042 within the Richmond metro area. A complaint form and other consumer information can also be found on the attorney general's website at http://ag.virginia.gov and clicking on "Consumer Protection" in the left-hand menu. The licensing of tow truck drivers has transferred to the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). |

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare
Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
