Deep Run robotics team moves on to world competition

The Deep Run High School robotics team, Blue Cheese, recently won the Chairman's Award at the North Carolina Regional FIRST Robotics Competition in Raleigh, N.C. – earning the event's highest award.

Deep Run competed against 54 teams from across the United States and Europe. The Chairman's Award represents the spirit of FIRST and honors the team that, in the judges’ estimation, best represents a model for other teams to emulate and embodies the goals and purpose of FIRST.

Deep Run will join the robotics teams from Tucker and Godwin high schools (which won awards at the FIRST competition in Richmond) at the world competition in St. Louis on April 24-27.
