School briefs - Rolfe Middle School

In the last week and a half of October, students participated in John Rolfe Middle School’s Spirit Week. Spirit Week is an event when students show support to the school and the student body. The children had different things to do on specific days.

Oct. 15 was Crazy Twin Day, the day on which you had to pick a friend and wear the same clothes all day. The students weren’t the only ones that had Crazy Twin Day – the teachers had it too! A few teachers dressed up as twins. Some teachers dressed up as triplets!

Oct. 16 was Pajama Day, on which you had to wear your pajamas to school. Oct. 17 was Fun Hat/Crazy Hair Day. Students were allowed to select one hat to wear all day. Students also had the option to put their hair in a very unique style. The most creative hat was made and worn and made by sixth-grader Naima Moore.

Oct. 18 was Hollywood Stars Day. Students were asked to dress up as their favorite celebrity.

Oct. 19 was the day to wear your grade level color. On that day, the entire school had an assembly about Spirit Week. At the very end of the assembly, students had a competition. The competition was to see which grade had the most spirit. The way the competition worked was whichever grade screamed the loudest won. The eighth grade won the competition, but the sixth and seventh grades were really loud!

The following Monday, Oct. 22, was Dress to Impress Day. Students were asked to wear fancy clothes that day. Oct. 23 was John Rolfe Spirit Wear Day, when students were asked to wear their school spirit gear. Later that day John Rolfe had its homecoming football game against Wilder Middle School. Rolfe won 36-6. On Oct. 26, students
had their Homecoming dance.
