Winning $250K Ticket Sold in Short Pump

A Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000 in last night's drawing was sold at the 7-Eleven store at 11480 West Broad Street in Short Pump, according to the Virginia Lottery.

The jackpot for the drawing ended up being $380 million – even larger than originally expected. Two tickets matched all six numbers to split the winnings; those tickets were bought in Idaho and Washington state.

A total of 197,886 tickets purchased in Virginia were winners, including Short Pump's $250,000 winner. In total, Virginia Lottery players won more than $1.4 million in this one drawing. Mega Millions sales in Virginia on Tuesday were more than $6 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot run that began after the Nov. 9 drawing and continued through Jan. 4 raised $13.4 million for Virginia’s K-12 public schools.
