![]() Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, N.C. recently admitted the following local students for its fall 2012 semester: Shakira Barron, Jasmin Brooks, Jaquan Carlisle, Anthony Carter, Carneisha Cosby, T’osha Crumble, Victoria Edmonds, Terrell Fields, Kenneth Ford, Gregory Ford, Cinease Freeman, Kierra Glenn, Shanika Harris, Walter Hinnant, Leonard Hopkins, Mya Jefferson, Alanna Johnson, Eryka Jones, Nicorsha Jordan, Markeisha Lundie, Chrishunda Mahone, Shakear McFadden, Sherita Mines, Maraja Morris, Alexis Mosely, Marshall Mundin, Davonni Parker, Ashante’ Pegeas, Jason Perry, Jaleel Price, Kristina Quinn, Paul Quinn and Nakiya Ruffin, of Richmond; and Aaron Lewis, of Henrico. *** The following students recently were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Furman University in Greenville, S.C.: James Nix, Kelsey Oostdyk, Samuel Pasco, Ann Snyder and Jacqueline Wornom, of Richmond. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. *** Junior Elizabeth Levy, of The College at Brockport Women's Gymnastics team, recently was named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team. A Health Science/Nursing major, Levy won the individual national championship in the All-Around event. She was also crowned All-American in the uneven bars and on the balance beam. Levy has also been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Year for her overall athletic accomplishments. She is a graduate of Hermitage High School. *** The following students recently graduated from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.: LeeAnne R. Brooks, of Sandston; Claire M. Brooks, Ryan S. Forbes, Kelsey A. Hilton, Connor R. Kerr, Lauren E. Kornacki, Sara O. Monk, Nathalie I. Rieder, Christopher A. Moore, Brian A. Brown and Mary K. Hubbard, of Glen Allen; and Shavon Sharee Moore and Amy M. Purello, of Richmond. *** Chaz Antonio Coleman, of Henrico, recently graduated from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. He received a bachelor of science degree in management. *** Amanda Hogue, of Richmond, recently was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99. *** Nicolas Pratt, of Glen Allen, recently was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at DePaul University in Chicago, Ill. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. |

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
