Honoring a drive for perfection

Perfect attendance at work last year paid off for Henrico resident and Owens & Minor employee Michael Faison, who drove home in a new Ford Mustang April 12. Faison’s name was selected in a random drawing from among a pool of 55 hourly employees who qualified for the drawing by achieving perfect attendance in 2011. (The company awards six cars annually to one employee with such attendance within each of its six operating regions.)

Faison, a seven-year employee at the Owens & Minor Richmond Distribution Center in Hanover, was surprised with his new car during the work day. He is pictured above, holding the keys to the car, flanked by Ron Smarsh, general manager of the Richmond Distribution Center; Owens & Minor EVP and COO James Bierman, and Owens & Minor Regional Director of Operations José Valderas.
