‘Henrico’s Top Teachers’ Celebration – Feb. 22, 2012

The Henrico Citizen, in partnership with the Henrico Education Foundation, will host its first annual 'Henrico's Top Teachers' Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at the Doubletree Hotel Richmond Airport, 5501 Eubank Road in Sandston.

The event will honor the 20 outstanding teachers who will be profiled in the Citizen's second annual 'Henrico's Top Teachers' issue Feb. 16. The teachers were selected from a field of more than 240 reader nominations and represent 19 public schools and one preschool.

It will begin with a 5:30 reception, followed by a dinner banquet at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $50 apiece and include dinner and one drink ticket. Tickets may be reserved by e-mailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or calling (804) 262-1700. Payment must be received by Feb. 17.

Reynolds CC to host sculptor Paul DiPasquale

Reynolds Community College will host Richmond sculptor Paul DiPasquale Sept. 28 as he shares his presentation “Art Talk, Why Art Matters” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Conference Center Gallery of the Workforce Development and Conference Center on the Parham Road Campus, located at 1651 E. Free children’s clothing for those in need

The Children's Clothing Closet at Highland Springs United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 30 to provide free new or nearly new children's clothing for families in need, prior to the start of the school year. The Clothing Closet will be open from 10 a.m. to noon both days. The church is located at 22 North Holly Avenue. > Read more.

Innsbrook's 7th annual Great Pumpkin Palooza will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual Punkin Dunkin competition starts at 11 a.m. Public launchings will begin following the competition with pumpkins available for purchase at the pumpkin patch; proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
