Growlers to Go opens in Short Pump; opening celebration Oct. 15

Growlers to Go has opened its second area location – in Short Pump, next to Trader Joe's.

Unlike the flagship store on the Boulevard in Richmond, this location is equipped with a Tasting Room, offering customers the opportunity to drink pints or tasting wheels as well as order snacks on premises.

New restaurant opens at Virginia Center Commons

Virginia Center Commons is now home to Alpozio’s Grill & Lounge, a new American-themed, family-owned and operated restaurant concept from industry veteran Al Williams.

“We are excited to welcome Alpozio’s, adding another dimension to Virginia Center Commons’ popular mix of specialty stores, eateries and entertainment venues,” said Sheryl Raulin, mall manager at Virginia Center Commons.

The kitchen at Alpozio’s focuses on classic American favorites with Italian influence. Menu items include everything from crab cakes to ribeye with a selection of kid-friendly favorites and decadent desserts, such as strawberry shortcake and grandma’s apple pie.

Carolina Ale House to open at West Broad Village

The 29th Carolina Ale House restaurant – and the first in Virginia – will open in West Broad Village early next year.

The restaurant is a family-friendly sports bar, which claims a mission of being "the better alternative to the typical sports bar." It specializes in scratch-made food and fresh wings and burgers. It will open in the former Mimi’s Café, an outparcel facing West Broad Street. Owner Lou Moshakos of LM Restaurants, the hospitality management group affiliated with the location, expects to hire 140-150 people.
