‘Taste of Virginia’ returning to Innsbrook Pavilion July 1

Are you ready to explore your taste buds?

Innsbrook's second-annual 'Taste of Virginia' festival, hosted July 1 at the Innsbrook Pavilion by the Innsbrook Foundation and the Innsbrook Rotary, will be a culinary event full of everything delicious that Virginia has to offer.

The festival, presented by Capital Ale House, will showcase food from local restaurants, as restaurants compete in a Whole Foods Market culinary competition for the “Taste of Virginia” title.

Carolina Ale House to open at West Broad Village Feb. 29

A new restaurant will open later this month at West Broad Village.

The 29th Carolina Ale House will open Monday, Feb. 29 in the former Mimi’s Café spot at 11275 West Broad Street. It's the chain's first Virginia location; the restaurant will employ about 140 people.

“We are excited to bring Carolina Ale House to Virginia,” said Lou Moshakos, owner of LM Restaurants, the hospitality management group affiliated with the Virginia location. “We are looking for A+ locations across the Southeast. Richmond provides the perfect balance of a university and professional community. We’re confident this will be a great fit and look forward to building a strong community partnership in this neighborhood; it’s all about the neighbors.”

JAN. 14, 11:31 A.M. – When he closed his Urban Tavern restaurant in Henrico's Far West End unexpectedly in November after 14 months in business, owner Garland Taylor promised that he would return with a new concept in the same space this year.

He's about to do just that.

Following a three-month renovation of the space, Taylor plans to open Union Table and Tap in the Gleneagles Shopping Center, at 10498 Ridgefield Parkway, Feb. 4.
