Glen Allen Library to host “Revved Up Recycling”

Build a better world, starting at the local level, at “Revved Up Recycling” from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Glen Allen Library. Denise Ritchie, Central Virginia's recycling education specialist, explores recycling fundamentals and caring for the environment in an interactive and fun program. Senior Center of Richmond to host third annual Senior Safety Day

The Senior Center of Richmond will host its third annual Senior Safety Day from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Learn how to be a savvy and safe senior living independently. There will be 10 different workshops to choose from. Meet local officials, visit with vendors at a resource fair, win door prizes and network with people from across the Commonwealth. Admission is free and lunch is provided. First Baptist Church is located at 2709 Monument Avenue; enter on Mulberry Street to access free parking on Robinson and Mulberry Streets. Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts to hold adoption event at Staples Mill Petco

Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts (CARE) will have cats and kittens for adoption at the Petco on Staples Mill Road from noon to 3 p.m. July 1 and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 2. CARE will have reduced adoption fees for pre-approved applications during this special adoption event. Apply at http://www.care-cats.org/application.

CARE is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, care and adoption of cats and kittens rescued from euthanizing animal shelters in Richmond and surrounding areas. The organization has rescued more than 7,000 cats and kittens in 15 years of operation.
